Tonight is the fullest moon of 2009 apparently, ripe like fruit sitting in the windex clean sky hovering above the trees, it's known as the Wolf Moon and it's freakin' sexy and I've been in one of those sunshine state moods. Yesterday the evening was oozing golden light which draped over the hills like a sweet sheet over a woman's thigh, the sun was huge, sitting down naked right in the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge and the grasses leapt in the cooling bay breeze, the dogs breathed deep the last warm air of the day with glee and skipped with pleasure, the setting sun reflected in their eyes. There are times I just lose myself on these late afternoon walks with my gang, lose myself in sense and sight and usually with the sound of my ipod repeating a tune that just transforms my mood. 'Night Time Is The Right Time' by the one, the only Ray Charles, and I'm imagining a butch, a bit like me, hey a lot like me - erm...younger....thinner, but I like my 501's and the way they sit bunched up on my boots, I like my Zero skull hoodie and my Dickies jacket and the way the hood of my sweatshirt flops over the edge of the collar, I like that I'm wearing a clean Tshirt with paint stains on it - and all I want is to feel her hand touch the small of my back. The way that feels through my jacket, just the slightest of pressure and then she slips her hand comfortingly into my back pocket. Later that hand will pull on my jeans as she tries to swallow me into her. Man, there is nothing like it. Nothing sweeter than holding her hand tight in my mine while she cries for me. It's such a shame I'm such a retard at relationships.
I look around, Roo flips in the air, Frank swaggers and Calvin rolls on his back on a dead tennis ball. Life is pretty perfect, and I pick little Oscar in his orange coat off the ground and rock him in my arms as the sounds in my head throb with that saxophone opening and the solid bass line and the little electric piano riffs and Ray echoing the anguished refrain that anchors the song from beginning to end 'night and day' 'night and day' - every time is the right time to be with the one you love. If you haven't listened to Ray Charles lately go do it right now.
Fellow dog walkers smile at me, with me taking a turn around the meadow with my dachshund in my arms. It doesn't matter. They know me mostly, they know that when I'm dancing with the moon rising and my dogs, best just smile and go home to dinner. And me, I'm missing the attentions of the girl. That's a drag. Fumble with the ipod....oh good there's Kate Bush 'Love And Anger'... that'll change my mood.
I was driving home from an errand late afternoon yesterday, just at dusk and spotted a yellow/orange full moon in the sky just above the tree tops. When I arrived at my block, I pulled over and sat there for a few minutes staring at the moon. My favorite moment of 2009 so far.
I tried to take a photo of it, but my camera didn't have the capability of capturing it well.

You can see the moon in Minnesota??? You sure it wasn't a massive projection of Al Franken's smiling face?

I especially like this phrase:
"and all I want is to feel her hand touch the small of my back. The way that feels through my jacket, just the slightest of pressure and then she slips her hand comfortingly into my back pocket."
