Mark Souder, Indiana Republican Rep becomes the latest in the Family Values Party to have to admit to a relationship outside his marriage. And as is so common in these whacked out hypocrites the admission of personal failing is twinned with a swipe at his political enemies. Souder says:
"I sinned against God, my wife and my family by having a mutual relationship with a part-time member of my staff. In the poisonous environment of Washington, D.C., any personal failing is seized upon and twisted for political gain. I am resigning rather than put my family through a painful drawn out process."
Mark, you really need to switch your party alliance - Democrats seize upon these affairs to point out the wild differential between the public pronouncements from the GOP in recent years, after becoming dependent on the culture warriors, and the private misdemeanors y'all think you can have while at the same time taking cues and money from Dobson et all at the Family Values altar.
Really? 'Personal failing seized upon for political gain' You think? Like Clinton for example? Gary Hart? John Edwards?
These men - Democrat and Republican alike have one simple thing in common. They all thought they could be the one who didn't get caught.
brilliant, jill.
